Testimonial:
I am 83 years old and live in a retirement facility. I had to give up my home station when
I moved here, but I kept my 40 meter CW QRP rig. My antenna is a Shakespeare 8′ whip.
It has a helical winding and is for ship to shore use. When I tried to use it in my apartment
on the 5th floor all I could hear was noise. I bought two split ferrite beads from Palomar
that are large enough for me to get two turns on RG 58 in them and to my amazement the
noise is very diminished and I hear ham CW now. Just wanted you to know how good this
worked for me. I have had this call W3ROO since early 1951 and don’t want to have to give
up ham radio.
