Palomar Engineers manufacture HF antennas and related  products including common mode coaxial feed line chokes, coax noise filters, AC/DC interference filters, and broadband impedance transformers used for antenna and transmission line matching. We also  provide a full selection of ferrite products and filters to suppress RFI/EMI interference and broadband noise on electronic equipment from 100 KHz to 1000 MHz. 

Our products are used in commercial and amateur radio stations, consumer households, military installations, solar energy power sites, the International Space Station, automotive, marine, medical, and numerous industrial and manufacturing operations, research institutes and governmental agencies.

Palomar Engineers was founded in 1965 by Jack Althouse (K6NY).  In 2013, Palomar Engineers was acquired by Susan Kline (President) and Robert Brehm, AK6R, Chief Engineer.

Palomar is the Spanish word for “dove cote”.  (La Paloma = The Dove). The mourning dove is a common bird in Southern California. A major feature of San Diego County –  Palomar Mountain 6,000 ft and home to famous for the Mt. Palomar telescope.

Bob Brehm, AK6R is Chief Engineer of Palomar Engineers and has been a ham for over 50 years with experience in contesting, RTTY, Amplitude Modulation, vintage radio restoration, boat anchors, linear amps and unique antennas. He is active on 3.870 AM and 3.895 Vintage SSB, the Saturday swap net on 7.240 as well as other nets offering his expertise to new and old hams alike.

Bob was first licensed as WB6QFA in about 1963. (Had both novice and technician class licenses at the same time). His Elmer was Bill, WB6KZO (SK).
