Feed-Point 1:1 Baluns
The strongest cure for common-mode current is right where it starts—at the **antenna feed point**. Our 1:1 baluns provide high choking impedance across HF, so your coax doesn’t become part of the radiator.
Why feed-point?
Keeps transmit current on the antenna elements and off the braid, improving pattern and reducing RF in the shack.
Easy to install
Mount under the center/transformer, short jumper to coax, weatherproof the junction, done.
Scales with power
Choose 500 W, 1.5 kW, or 5 kW PEP models based on your amplifier and duty cycle.
Quick setup
- Install directly below the feed point (center insulator, unun/transformer, or match unit)
- Use a short coax jumper to the balun; strain-relieve and weatherproof outdoors
- Add a **CMNF** at the radio end for a quieter receiver
When to step up power
Digital modes, RTTY, AM, or long key-down sessions increase heating. If in doubt, choose the next higher PEP rating.
