Simple 1:1 feed line chokes from ferrite rings and snap ons for all sizes of coax (user supplied).
DIY Ferrite Chokes
Specialty Chokes — LOOP / OCF / EFLW / EFOCF / EFHW
These models are tuned for the unique impedance and current conditions of magnetic loops, off-center-fed (OCF), and end-fed (EFHW) antennas. Right choke, right spot, quieter station.
Place the choke at the loop’s coax interface. Cuts braid pickup and keeps the pattern symmetric.
Install below the transformer. Reduces feedline radiation and RFI while preserving multiband behaviour.
Choke at the unun and (optionally) at a specified distance on the coax to minimize common-mode on multiple bands.
Placement tips
- Loop: directly at the loop feed interface (or station entry for receive quieting)
- OCF: just below the OCF transformer
- End-fed: at the unun; add a second choke at the recommended coax distance for band coverage
Power & ranges
Models available for HF wideband and low-band emphasis. Choose 1.5 kW or 5 kW PEP to fit your station duty cycle.
