Ferrite Rods are useful for making baluns, filament chokes, low frequency directional antennas from VLF to VHF. They are small, compact and have high Q. They are available in standard lengths up to 12″ long and from .25″ to 1″ in diameter. Material 61 is the most popular rod we offer. It has a recommended frequency range of use from .1 – 25 Mhz, for tuned circuits, antennas, etc and over 200 Mhz for RFI/EMI suppression.
