Icom IC-7300 RFI/Noise Reduction Kit — Deluxe (5-Filter System)

Tame shack noise and “RF in the shack” at its source with a purpose-built kit for the Icom IC-7300. This deluxe package targets the five most common noise paths—coax braid, DC power, USB/control, audio/speaker, and key/foot switch—so you hear more signals and fewer gremlins. Easy install. Immediate, repeatable results.

Built for Icom IC-7300 Targets 5 key noise paths HF coverage ~1.8–65 MHz Typical 25–36 dB quieting*
Before (braid + cable noise) After (5-path filtering) S9 S5 S1 S9 S5 S1 Baseline ≈ S5–S6 Baseline ≈ S1–S2 *Typical improvement ~4–6 S-units (install dependent)
What this fixes (plain English)

Noise rides in on two highways: the outside of your coax (common-mode on the braid) and your station cables (power, USB, audio, key lines). This kit chokes those paths so your IC-7300 hears more DX and less hash.

  • Lower noise floor and a calmer waterfall
  • Less RF feedback into audio/USB/mic
  • Cleaner pattern—feed line isn’t part of the antenna
What’s in the Deluxe kit (5 paths)
  • Coax Noise Filter (radio end): high-impedance choke for the braid at the IC-7300 input
  • DC Power line filter: ferrite treatment for the 13.8 V line to block conducted RF
  • USB/CAT control filter: snap-on ferrites to stop RF riding the cable shield
  • Audio/Speaker filter: ferrites to keep audio clean and hum-free
  • Key/Foot switch filter: ferrites to stop hot-keying and erratic keying from RF pickup

Everything sized for the IC-7300 station cabling; simple, step-by-step application.

Quick install (10 minutes)
  1. Coax filter: Insert at the IC-7300 RF input (or station entry). Hand-tight, then snug—do not overtighten.
  2. DC filter: Place ferrites close to the radio’s power jack; snap and fully seat.
  3. USB: Snap ferrites near radio end; add a second at PC end if needed.
  4. Audio/Speaker: Snap near radio; one more near speaker if hum persists.
  5. Key/Foot: Snap near the IC-7300; verify solid keying at full power.
Compatibility: Optimized for the Icom IC-7300; also beneficial on similar Icom HF shacks using the same cabling pattern.
Power/Duty: Rated for typical SSB/ICAS use with a 100 W class transceiver. For high-duty digital or AM, reduce average power or add a feed-point choke for extra margin.
