Coax Jumper Choke — RG-8X, 1.5 kW PEP (HF 1.8–65 MHz)

Plug-in feed-line choke that stops common-mode current on the outside of your coax. Use it at the antenna feed point or the radio end to lower noise, reduce RF in the shack, and stabilize your pattern.

What it fixes

Common-mode current rides the outside of the shield. The jumper choke presents high choking impedance to stop that current—lowering received hash and RF-in-shack.

  • Lower noise floor / calmer waterfall
  • Less mic/tuner bite and fewer USB/ground gremlins
  • Cleaner pattern—coax isn’t part of the radiator
Where to place it
  • Best: right below the antenna feed point
  • Also: at station entry/radio end; or mid-run as a line isolator
